Learning a new skill as an adult is both exhilarating and scary. I took up beginner’s tap dancing in my thirties. I remember as a child, snuggling watching old black and white films with my dad who loved Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and Doris Day. The effortless percussive beats, storytelling and smooth performances never left me. The shoes remind me of simpler times spent watching movies, being amazed by the skills of the actors but most importantly, my dad spending Saturday afternoons with me.
