I bought this dress 10-12 years ago to wear to a black-tie event with my then husband. I was incredibly nervous as I’d never been introduced to his colleagues. Within 10 minutes of arriving at the venue it became clear that most of his work friends believed that my husband was single and actively looking for accommodation.

I was so humiliated but kept the dress for another 10 years or so; I can’t put my finger on why I wanted to be reminded of my misery.
